Once again, happy new month!
So, before we go into the subject of today’s writing, I’d like to tell you about how my July 1st went.
It was really the start of a productive month for me. From the moment I woke up and prayed, my head was bubbling with lots of ideas and for a moment, I wanted to block them all out. But I couldn’t, so here’s what I did. I noted the list of things I needed to do and started on the smallest one. And by the end of the day, I accomplished everything I set out to do. Trust me, I was so happy. I took little breaks though to clear my head and then eat before getting right back to the things I wanted to do.
So, on to the tips that would help you to be more productive.
- Set Goals for the month. Set SMART goals for what you want to achieve. SMART goals are goals that are Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Relevant and Time bound. In this new month, you need to be clear about what you want to achieve. After writing your goals down, you should proceed to breaking them down into smaller tasks. This will help you create a plan to work towards them. For example, you want to read 10 books this month, here’s what you should do. Calculate the total chapters in the 10 books and divide them by 31 days (the amount of days in the month of July) and you’ll get the number of chapters you should read daily to be able to achieve your set goal.
- Learn to prioritize your tasks and activities. Identify the most important activities that align with your goals and focus on them. Don’t try to do everything. You need to have a scale of preference. A scale of preference is a list of your most important tasks/activities down to the least important activities. When you prioritize, it helps you to stay focused and ensures that you make progress on what matters the most.
- Manage your time wisely. Learn about effective time management techniques to help you maximize your productivity. Create a schedule, set deadlines, estimate distractions, and allocate time for both work and leisure activities.
- Practice Self-Care. Take care of your mental and emotional well-being. Prioritize self-care activities like meditation, journalling, reading, or engaging in hobbies that bring you joy and relaxation. Go on strolls. Listen to music. Read novels. Take a day off to do absolutely nothing, I mean nothing! Just take enough rest.
- Take time to reflect on your achievements and progress throughout the month. Celebrate your wins, both big and small, and acknowledge the effort you put into reaching your goals. You can do this weekly or after a milestone you set. Don’t be too hard on yourself. Even if it’s just a book you were able to read, give yourself a pat on the back for it. Document your progress.
The last one I would mention to us which is definitely not the least is
- Practicing gratitude. Cultivate a mindset of gratitude by expressing appreciation for the blessings and positive aspects of your life. Being grateful will help you take on each day with joy. It would help you see the positive side to things and open your eyes to see that you have achieved great things.Maybe we would treat the remaining tips on the list in August.
